We got a short notice (hmm a trend, Thee Parkside show last Saturday was also a short, less than week's notice) from KALX DJ and bon vivant, Naes asking us to play this Saturday on KALX (UC Berkeley's station, 90.7). Naes had heard our Xmas song, Have A Ratty Xmas, and tried to have us on last December but our holiday calendar was full. We're doing a quick demo recording session that day so we'll be hopped up to go and play live. Check it and us out. July 27, 2007 SAN FRANCISCO - Buzz Boy John enjoying a refreshing beverage a Janine's party... he said he was going for a run, but we haven't seen him in a week. We figured that the caffeine has worn off by now, and the sugar rush should subside very soon. January 19, 2007 ANAHEIM - Teri saw Bootsy at NAMM! He really liked our band name... he said, "now THAT is freaky." April 23, 2007 SAN FRANCISCO - Teri got a phone call from someone who said he was Jorge Santana's manager. He said Jorge needed a headlining act for a show at The Pine St. Bar & Grill, and he wanted to know if the Pie Rats were interested. She said that they didn't want to decline, but due to John going on the road as Sheryl Crow's bodyguard since her confrontation with Karl Rove they might have to use someone else. Pie Rats sent a message to Jorge's brother but haven't heard back. Although it is possible this was just a prank call, we are keeping the faith and plan to accept the gig offer. March 3, 2007 SAN FRANCISCO - Recent reports that Rob is going to be joining a new version of King Crimson are true. However, this current episode of Robert Fripp's fiasco is to be a disco version of Lark's Tongues in Aspic. Rob has been searching for some Syndrums and Linn drum machines. He says once he gets these programmed and midi'ed he'll be able to fulfill his final fantasy while sitting in the front row watching. February 16, 2007 SAN FRANCISCO - John is temporarily retiring from music and all sound in general. "I think that the world has gotten polluted from too many sick, perverted, and weak guitarists and singers. The only way around this is to start from the beginning, before there was even any music.
